About the image

Pierre Fernandez Arman
Sculpture with pencils (pencils and resin on plexiglass, 1968)

Arman was an artist who strove to transform everyday objects into works of art. His sculptures – cast, welded together or enclosed in plexiglass ‘vitrines’ – lend new dimension, shape and power to objects that are already perfect in form.
